November 19 & 20, 2026
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture

Geography 2050 is the leading geospatial Fall event bringing together thought leaders from across the country to discuss the future of our planet. Africa Shaping Tomorrow will examine the geographic forces transforming one of the world's most dynamic regions. For the first time, we're holding the symposium at a venue specially aligned to this year's topic: The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. To add to our program of visionaries in geography and geospatial technology, the Schomburg offers attendees the opportunity to view some of America's top exhibitions and materials celebrating African-American and African culture and history.

AGS members enjoy discounts of $125 to $225 off the registration price. AGS members also enjoy year-round benefits such as online access to our journal, Geographical Review, and early notification of other events and networking opportunities. Click to join AGS here!
